You can try looking in www.advancedfightingfantasy.com. I believe there's a solution for this book available there. There used to be one in www.fightingfantasy.com as well, but I think the owner redirected that site.

What a cracking good site. Thisll keep me occupied. Ive been a fan of the books for some 18 years, and still have lots of 2nd edition origionals. Even tho im about to hit 30 years old, (shhh), you cant beat the escapism of Fighting Fantasy and all its followers.

Hi Everyone.
Found a couple of sherlock holmes adventures on the interactive fiction archive over at www.ifarchive.org. These games are multiple choice adventures, but much of the decision making is through skills you select at the beginning of the books and through dice rolls to determine events during play. I bet these could easily be converted (with the addition of combat senarios) in to fighting fantasy gamebooks as playable on this site. Anyone wanting more information, drop me a line at igucukoglu@hotmail.com. I wouldn't recommend these ordinarily, but I do think these are exceptional books and have been really well adapted for enjoyment on the computer.http://www.ifarchive.org

Just wanted to say that I've been a fan of interactive fiction since my childhood in the '80s. Towards the end of that decade, I had a hard time finding the Fighting Fantasy and Sorcery! book series in the United States. For years afterwards, I would roam used bookshops every now and then to no avail. I stumbled upon your website and I was pleasantly surprised to see the lastest projects! Your efforts are appreciated.

I don't suppose we'd be looking at another book on this website later this summer?
No, sorry. The in-tray is empty and we are halfway through summer already.

Go here for some excellent soundtracks from videogames. I only post this here because there's so many soundtracks and there's plenty of them you could listen to while playing FF books. Its a really nice site. I like to listen to some songs from guilty gear isuka while playing hellfire. http://gh.ffshrine.org?r=16553
also.

The gauntlets are not beyond the acid, they're right, and I mean right before it. It requires a perfectly timed time spell to get them.

Wow. This is a fantastic place! Some of those adventures are of the most torturous and complex nature (you know which one I'm talking about). Much applause to the creators! (And now I can't help wanting to write one myself.) *adventures, for fish* Sealgirl
Thanks. And if you do write one, please feel free to send it here. I would be more than happy to put it on the downloads page, and maybe do an online version if it is suitable and time permits.

Hi.
I'm very sorry if this is an out of order question, as it doesn't concern this site, but what's going on with "Age of fable"
whenever I try to start the game I get a very odd error message. Furthermore there's nothing whatsoever about who runs the site, whether the game is a work in progress or an abandoned project, absolutely no info whatsoever apart from info about the game (which isn't working).
I know that you have litle or nothing to do with that project Gbf, but I was wondering if either you or somebody else here could let me know what's going on with "Age of fable" and who I might contact reguarding it.
It looks like a really promising project, so I hope it's either a technical hitch, or that the game is stil in developement and will appear soon.
Sorry about the severe case of off topicitude of this post.

a great website with some really cool downloads.
Age of Fable. Tue Jul 11 02:40:49 2006
Hi, In case anyone else wants to know (other than dark, above):
It's a work in progress, which I do a little bit on when I can - usually one encounter a weekend.
The frequent error messages are because if I put one comma wrong, the entire file will fail to load. So if you get an error message, that's because you're playing it as I'm working on it.
The sudden and unexplained 'THE END's you'll get are because it's a work in progress.
My contact is news@apolitical.info
Thanks, James www.ageoffable.net

Well I'm glad that age of ffable is an ongoing project, that's one I'll keep my eye on.
Gbf, if your including gamebook esque web games as links on your site, maybe you could put a link to Sryth the age of Igtheon?
In other news, I've just finished trial of Alaba's tomb, and I'm really impressed!
though it was a definite maze, I never found myself feeling lost due to the well written descriptions of even simple locations like tunnels, which stopped everything from looking the same. I also love the way the layout was indeed logical, with mostly long passages with rooms opening out from them. the author also plainly constructed the book very well, sinse I noticed that I wasn't able to walk around in circles, when I'd reached a point that required two routes to get there and had only taken one, the book would say something like: "sinse you've been following a generally southerly direction you decide to continue south"
this very much stopped me from walking around in circles, as distinctly happen when I tried Curse of the Yeti.
I only died twice, which was lucky. the only real piece of complete luck I had was finding a certain vital key, that is only obtainable I believe from a correct choice of three alternatives, I think this is probably the only cryticism of the book I have reguarding that puzle, that it was only luck on my part that let me get that important item, and without it I believe I might have ended up dying nastily right at the end.
My success has now rekindled my hope that I might actually be able to complete some of the longer books ----- though I stil think I'll give hell fire a miss until I'm a good deal more experienced.

......Sorry, I'm getting a little confused here. Dark had addressed 2 of his posts at someone with the initials "Gbf", which also happens to be the initials for my username. But it's quite clear from his second post that he's talking to the host of this site. I hope he hasn't mistaken me for the site admin. If he had, I hope to clear up this misunderstanding. I may love gamebooks, but I know practically nothing about programming (which was why I didn't respond to his question about Age of Fable even though I thought he was addressing it at me). I'm just another fairly active user.
Of course, maybe our host here does in fact have a name/alias with the initials Gbf. I'd certainly like to know if it's true. I always felt that having to address someone as "site admin" or "site owner" when trying to address him in the second-person was just a little awkward at times.
Either way, congratulations to Dark for completing a fairly difficult book. Good luck to you in your further "conquests"! :)

Hello Gamebook Fanatic.
I'm afraid you are correct, and I did mistake you for the site administrator, and I'm sorry for the missunderstanding, you just seem to be the omniscient answerer of all questions around here, hence my mistake.
Trial was good fun, and as I said, I only suffered two deaths along the way, and I was definitely impressed with the book as a hole, though I did think that one item
