Although I no longer write gamebooks, I do still have ones that have been sitting on my computer for ages. If you've read Grekgun, there is still part II and part III to it that are now completed and just need to be released. Not sure if I can still use Lulu, but if I can, they'll probably go there in 2016 & 2017. I have other mini ones that will probably just go on my free website in the coming months in 2016. But that's it unless I upgrade and get endless pages to do fun gamebook stuff with (but not writing new ones).

Do feel free to follow me on Twitter, I try to keep it updated with projects I'm working on when I'm not rambling on about useless things.

I also send FF quizzies to the Official Fighting Fantasy site regularly. A new one is on the way...

Speaking of James Bond, I'm wondering who the next candidate will be? I'm thinking perhaps Daniel Radcliffe...eh?

Robert, he's not THAT handsome. Uh nope nope nope. ;)

Also, he's too young to be Bond.

And surely he's not all enough?

Oh, alright then. What about a female Bond? Hermione, perhaps? I can just imagine her coming up against a villain, waving a wand, and shouting 'Pyrarmus!' "Ha, ha, I'm immune against such fire spells, 007!"
"Oh, alrighty then..." and THWACK! she delivers a hefty punch like the one Malfoy suffered. That would be quite a good Red Nose Day spoof, I reckon.

Merry Wolfstide to One and All! A flagon of mead in honour of the trappers fallen victim to the Snow Witch!

I'm not celebrating Xmas. When I have children of my own, then yes, but not before. 'Nuff said!

Hi, I've got a general feedback regarding one of the changes made to how the games are run:

I appreciate that there are players who prefer to speed things up by having the game "auto-run" during sections where there are no options available, but I think there's a pretty big downside to that: you miss the option to eat and heal in between sections.

For example, I just played Hunger of the Wolf. I battled a Felinaur and actually won the fight, but I was badly injured myself. I had the Provisions to heal, but because the game is set to auto-run until there's an option, I wasn't able to eat, and 2 sections later I got hit by an arrow for 4 damage and killed because I didn't get the chance to heal myself despite having the resources.

Maybe there ought to be an opportunity to pause every time to take some form of damage?
Yes that's a fair point. I'll try and look out for this sort of thing in future, and in response to the specific example you mention I've made it so that there is a pause after killing the Felinaur.

Sorry, what I meant to type was: "Maybe there ought to be an opportunity to pause every time you take some form of damage?"

I don't think there should ever be any sections with no options because then it becomes more like a book than a gamebook.
A lot of them are the result of paths converging, or something that is handled automatically such as codewords or possession of an item.

Just a note. Since the response to Golem Gauntlet was positive, this year I'm going to write another story. This tale will be pure FF, and, with respect to Steve Jackson, resolve an issue that was always a point of contention for long-time fans. I hope it provokes some discussion.

Hello all,

What are the longest gamebooks that are playable online here?
The sizes are all shown here.

The longest individual gamebook is The Diamond Key at 1000 references. A Shadow In The North has 700 references and A Flame In The North and Return To G15-275 have 600.

If you count collections of gamebooks, then Tales From The Bird Islands has 925 references in total, and the Wrong Way Go Back series has 1409.

@ Josh,
Not which are the longest gamebooks, Nye's Song and APIAS are only short forays (adapted from Windhammer format).

@ All,
There's an audio version of 'The Curse of Drumer' on Youtube for visually impaired gamers. It has been developed by Robert Kingett. While the robotic voice has limitations and not the most ideal narrative, it's quite an honour for it to be made more accessible. 'House of Horror' has also been played through; I believe there might be a recorded play-through of this also. Along with others perhaps.

Just wondering if it's possible for the above online adventures to have atmospheric music like Tin Man FF Games?

How many references??? WOW! TCOD, POP, and SS each only have 400 (before editing), BZP measures 380. Relatively small in comparison to others on here.
