I don't think it will be quality which is the primary deciding factor for andy to put up an online version of the game, it will also largely depend on the complexity of the title and the time it would take to implement it for the same. Remember that Andy runs this site as a hobby, not an occupation and his time is occupied with other commitments. Obviously, quality is important and it will depend if Andy likes the book enough to think it worth adapting.
Thanks Ibrahim, saved me typing all that out again. Probably I should have a frequently asked questions page. To clarify the quality aspect, they really need to be at least as good as those already there (in my opinion), otherwise there isn't much point - by now, quantity is not an issue. But I have no problem putting (completed) gamebooks on the downloads page even if I don't intend to make an online version of them.

Anyone who really needs an online version of their gamebook in a hurry should visit http://www.fightingfantasy.org or http://spielbuch.net and get to work themselves.

With the exception of 'The rings of Kether', which gamebooks have rules for spacecraft battles?

Stuart Lloyd

Starship traveller
Sky Lord
Robot commando (actually huge robots, but it could be adapted)
Freeway fighter (actually motor vehicles, but could be adapted.)

Apart from Legend of the Shadow Warriors which ff adventures feature Mandrakes or explain their origins?

Mandrakes is also found in Moonrunner.

This is entry 1000 in this guestbook.

May I take this opportunity to thank Andy for creating and maintaining this site, thereby allowing us to build a community of FF-appreciators. And thanks to everyone for writing and reading gamebooks, giving the concept of gamebooks new (and dare I say it, improved) life.

I was going to try and get entry 999 and warn the next person to say something momentous, so Andy could frame it and put it on his wall. But this will have to do.

Hmm, somehow it just doesn't seem frameworthy...
I should point out that despite appearances, this really was the 1000th message when it was posted. Since then I have deleted some earlier (spam) messages, which has left the unfair impression that Ulysses cannot count. Cheers anyway, though, and thanks to you and the other writers for providing such quality material for me to work with.

This is a great site, and Andy, I really appreciate all the work you've done.

Sorry, Ullyses, I failed to realise the whole 'reference 999'thing. I'd have tried something special if I knew. In reconciliation, perhaps I can still do something memorable. I'm thinking of a short (25-30 reference) gamebook in the very pages of the guestbook. Since it's a special occasion, perhaps a gamebook featuring loads of ideas from different gamebooks. Something along the lines of Zagor, Agglax and the Snow Witch teaming up (Or facing off) or suchlike. I'll start it over the weekend. Post any ideas to involve in the guestbook...

Perhaps the sub-adventure could be a 'King Kong'-esque adventure, where you play as a massive creature, destroying cities and killing other giant beasts (Like 'Appointment with F.E.A.R.' except that instaead of the superhero theme it has a 'Godzilla King Kong' theme.

Wait...I'm going mad. Every time you leave a message in the guestbook, the message at the top dissapears onto the previous page, but the whole 'oooh, eeeh' thing stays at the top no matter how many messages are put here! What twisted conspiracy is burying its tentacular reach into the guestbook? Boldly you set off to discover

NOW TURN OVER (To page 1, not turn yourself over)
This effect is caused by deleted messages being at the top of the page. Deleted messages still exist - you just can't see them. So when you add a new message, the invisible deleted message goes onto the previous page and it looks as though the same message as before is at the top.

Thanks Ullyses. Here's a question for 'Rise of Skarlos', in 'Scorpion Swamp', apart from 'Fire' and 'Ice' wat neutral spells were there?

Stuart Lloyd
Mon Jun 23 21:03:11 2008
Neutral spells

Illusion - creates a short lived illusion.

Skill, stamina and luck - restores skill stamina or luck points equal to half your initial value of the attribute.

Does anyone know much about the deserts and forests around Zagoula? I need a few details.

Haoie
Mon Jun 30 21:39:15 2008
Titan doesn't contain much detail on those areas, Zagolua. The only books that are set in the region are Nightmare Castle, Portal of Evil, and to a far less extent Spectral Stalkers.

Sadly so, however there are several online encyclopedias on Fighting Fantasy, which include some info on the area, them, Titan and the FF books themselves give some info, then Stuart and I have extrapolated the rest.

Something weird is happening to this guestbook.
It says messages 1065 to 1084 are displayed, but can only see 6.

(Just seeing what happens when I submit a message. This message can be deleted)

Whoa, man! weirdness is engulfing the guestbook with its writhing tendrils. Sorry Testing, but there's not even 6 messages any more! 4 alone!
There's no weirdness - just a lot of deleted messages. The problem is spam, and there seems to be quite a lot of it all of a sudden. Hopefully the situation is not unsalvageable, but there is the distinct possibility in future that all messages will have to be inspected before they appear.
