OMG!! To the owner of this thing : thank you SO SO much for creating this FANTASTIC WEBSITE!
I loved fighting fantasy books as a child and have wept for them ever since (while wondering which door I should take to magically transport me to a land of endless espressos...)and so am thrilled to find this site.
*salutes*

Hi...
When we die, can you make it so we can start back up maybe 10 pages before? Or where ever we messed up?

Also why is it that none of the protagonists seem to be able to fight hand to hand?
You can use bookmarks/favourites to effectively 'save' your place in a game. As for the lack of hand to hand fighting, it's just the way Fighting Fantasy generally is. There are a few examples of unarmed combat, though these are normally the result of losing or failing to find a weapon.

So are you guys on the Facebook group for FF books? I think I'm a member, it's been ages though.

I just wanted to say thanks to the administrator(s) and contributors to this site! I stumbled upon it while doing an internet search of the FF and CYOA books I enjoyed as a teen back in the mid-80's, and was surprised that there's still interest in this medium of gameplay. I immediately jumped into Hellfire, as that was the first entry I saw in the list of titles available, and felt the same thrill I had 20 years ago. Admittedly, I've had to peruse this entire Guestbook to get clues to a certain section I'm stuck on (fairly well documented by other readers here), but I'm glad I did.. for another reason entirely.

It was kind of heart-warming to see so many other people here not just interested in reading these style of books, but creating new titles in their own right. I'm serious.. in this day of advanced electronic gaming systems I not only expected little in the way of information on anything FF-related, I expected the whole genre to be practically dead and buried.

So, I really have to tip my hat to you all! Thanks for breathing some life into my trip down nostalgia lane.

Hi guys, huge fan of this site and love some of the efforts. House of Horror II everybit as good as the original and love the dark humour in the Planet of the Spiders -both right up my street!

You guys inspired me to have my own little effort as I'm a fantasy author too and so I've printed a bonus "choose your own adventure" book as a partial follow up to my debut Lyrian. Sadly not as good as some here (you guys should consider print for some of these efforts!), but I'd love to give a few of the contributors on here a free copy if they like. it's the least i could do for some truly amazing efforts...

if you would like one just email me at lyrian@hotmail.co.uk and i will get one sent out. not sure if it will arrive by Xmas, but something to pass the drab january or give me a pointer of where i'm going wrong =)

Hey Kristopher. I was curious as to whether your gamebook would be availlable exclusively to the admins of this site, or whether you'll send them out to us mere mortals as well. *Smile*. I'm always interested to read other's gamebooks. Also, when you finish it, you can submit it for download to the site, and if Andy likes it well enough, it'll probably be added for online play as well. Get back to me when you can. Hope all is going well for the rest of you guys, as well.

hi guys,

I just found this site, as a player of fighting fantasy gamebooks for many years I just want to say how great I think these seperate stories are. having always played the traditional way with dice and a pencil I think the work done here is excellent.

I really enjoyed The black lobster, and I thought the idea of using an "average joe" type protagonist was superb.

I have always enjoyed the fighting fantasy stories ( I still am able to recount each of the 400 paragraphs from island of the undead my favorite game book- my friends used to say the first sentance and i could tell them wht happens in the paragraph for them by memory) and this site is great!
