Soul Tracker

Lessen confusion. Really, I'm not as ignorant as my typing sometimes makes me appear.

Just for clarification, I enjoyed Soul Tracker and found it to be a good, well-written story. I was providing critique only for the purposes of saying something useful.

By calling it an 'interesting' gamebook, I was highlighting my appreciation of the unconventional plot and structure.

I didn't mean the other 'interesting'.

No clarification needed, Ulysses. I took your comments exactly as you meant them. By the way, how close are you to finishing the next part of your 'wrong way go back' series?

Hello Dwarmin. Glad you enjoyed 'Soul Tracker.' I may at some point write a sequel, or come up with something completely new, depending on what the muse whispers to me.

Is there actually a way to save the city in soul tracker?

I got to the end, and tried both options, ---- Darkheart's campeign hq, and the wearhouse, and both times quite literally all hell broke loose and the ending was rather grim and dysmal.

I wasn't sure if this was simply the way the book ended, ----- I don't know if the author is planning a sequal, or whether I missed something somewhere along the line which would give a slightly better outcome.

the problem is with the hole tone of the book being depressed goth meets ghost busters (I deffinately could picture Wesley snipes in the lead roll), I wasn't certain if indeed this was meant to be the end.

Any advice would be much appreciated.
Yes, it's definitely possible.

Great site. Brings back great memories. Really enjoyed trying some of these new books online. Really liked the humour of Beggar of Blacksand and Lair of the troglodytes.

Not played them all but Midnight Deep seems more in keeping with the gamebooks from old. Personally found Outsider quite annoying/boring/unsatisfying. Not really my cup of tea I suppose.

Again great site.

PS @Dark. The fabled lands were written into an open sourced java interface. It similar to this site.

Hi.

Thanks Gaetano, I'll try soul tracker again and choose other options. I genuinely wasn't sure whether the ending was intended to be that way, ---- or whether I'd in fact missed a better ending.

Knowing there is a better one I'll have a look.

About the flap fabled lands jarva project, unfortunately, it interfaces very badly with screen readers. I've talked to a programmer I know, and he stated it would take quite a rewrite to get things working correctly as it wasn't created with accessibility in mind.

that's why I'm looking into getting hold of the actual books. Thankfully, people (actually two people separately), have been kind enough to send me coppies of the first book, which is good.

Hi Gaetano, I really really enjoyed Soul Tracker, that was a fantastic story. Are you going to produce any more titles along a similar vein? I like the macho motorcycle rider theme, big guys with big guns saving the city or whatever, sort of reminds me of the mad max movies if you've watched those.

Thanks for the kind words, Ibrahim. I've thought about writing another adventure, although I'm not sure where I would go with it. I do like trying things out that I haven't done before. The most recent thing I did (along with several other authors on this site) was pen a fantasy adventure for the Iphone http://www.gamebookadventures.com "Slaves of Rema" was a really fun experience.

However, to keep up my writing practice, I may very well write up something else and submit it to The Fighting Fantasy Project. Not sure if I'll stick with fantasy, or do something Sci-Fi, or horror, or something such as Soul Tracker that combines several genres.

Hi Gaetano. Well, all I can hope for is that you do something along similar lines to Soul Tracker, perhaps a sequel or a spin off or something entirely different, perhaps an adventure set aboard a spaceship maybe? Anyway thanks for Soul Tracker and house of horror, I'll be keeping a keen ear out for anything new you produce.

All right, you've motivated me. I have a seed of an idea that's been swilling around in my head about a story set in space with some horror elements. Maybe I'll start tapping the keyboard and see what comes out. It might take a few months, however.

In which case I advise you to watch Event Horizon and Pandorum, both of which should give you a few nice ideas!

Thanks for the ideas, Phil! On a somewhat related note- anyone see the film Moon? It came out last year. I highly recommend it.

Hi Gaetano. Wow, so few words and already your motivated, perhaps all you needed was the final nudge to get the ideas flowing? *smile*. I'll check out the film Moon of course, but if you've ever seen alien the original motion picture then I'm sure that'll give you a couple more ideas as well as hopefully a sleepless night or too hehehehe. Incidentally, which country do you reside in?

Gaetano

Alien is a classic, definitely.

Both of my parents are from Italy, but I've spent my life in the United States (Los Angeles area, where I still reside).

Hi Gaetano. Oh cool, I live in the UK, England to be precise. I was just curious because your name is an uncommon one. Anyway, I hope you can put something together in the not too distant future and upload it for online play to this website. In my opinion your writing is exceptional and I thoroughly enjoyed both house of horror and of course soul tracker.

Thanks Robert. I understand about saving the adventure- if that is a problem, it might be better to go by the printed version. You could simply save it to your desktop and mark down what section number you left on.
