the use of the yellow keycard, the info you can find using this (which admittedly takes you off the correct path) can give you a clue of what you need to obtain the Fake ID. The clue is just info that you can store in your very own brain, so when you play on the correct path you can go to one of the three levels of the GDC building to obtain the item (there's a sign and everything), then go to another level to put it to use, then go to yet another level to get your ID.

@D-L-T Thank you for a hint

I do have FakeID and 3 watch pieces. What is the second item? The lighter?

@binki:
SPOILER
The item to get the key will automatically appear in your inventory when you walk from one particular 'room' on level 2 into another particular 'room' on level 2, as long as you have the 3 watch parts.
You will then need to 'use' the item in the correct room for the ID to become relevant (just a guess, as I haven't yet done it, but I am almost 100% certain this is the case based on the hints in the text and what Ulysses has confirmed to me).
it is not the lighter.

@Ulysses Did you skip Planet of the Spiders?
No, it's just that Spiders are creepy!
@binki And what was the trick for finding the key for the watch?
SPOILER
Lots of hints for this in the guestbook already, but... here it is again. to get the winding key, you need:
* a Fake ID * the other 3 watch parts (mechanism, face, case) * Another item which is hidden somewhere on the executive level (lvl 2) that will be automatically added to your inventory, if you walk from the correct origin room to the correct destination room.
You then need to use the hidden item in the correct spot to access the key.
To get the fake ID, you need an item which you obtain from the recreational level (lvl 3), which you then take to another place somewhere in the GDC building, and after you've done that, you go to a third different location in the GDC building to get your Fake ID.
If you have the winding key + 3 watch parts, they will be automatically replaced in your inventory with the golden watch.

Ulysses does it again. I've only read the background and I'm already impressed. Sandwiches, sprouts, fish, worms, and now cutlery.
Ulysses, you are a reincarnation of Douglas Adams. There is no other explanation.

@Ulysses and Volden
SPOILER
If I recall/understood correctly, you actually need two pieces of information from the restaurant to achieve the "best" ending for the book. Each piece of information requires a different menu combination.
SPOILER
Ulysses or the mod may be able to confirm this - I think the first piece is to do with what is in the Penthouse, and the second is to do with a certain ABC, but this second piece doesn't come into play until riiiiight at the end.

There is just something I have to know about Return to G15-275.
SPOILER
In order to assemble the watch, is it necassary to be thrown out and harmonized at least once? Or is there a way to enter the BM's room without that happening?
END SPOILER
Ulysses Thu Nov 7 01:51:18 2013
@Unlucky
It is possible to enter the Business Manager's office (and other offices too) without getting harmonised. You just need something to make you fit in.

Alright then, follow up question
SPOILER
Is it possible to make the Fake ID unobtainable? I've already spoiled myself on its existance and I'm assuming that's what I need, but I wasn't spoiled on how to get it, and I can't seem to find any way to proceed from where I am.
