Ah yes, that is a good family name. The tumbleweed must've been from very great roots. He rolls now, along that dirt road, with a bullet in him. But he still whistles. Taunting you. Taunting like a mad hatter saying shoot me again pajama man, i shall never relent.

Great epic story! I had to play out all paths I could find, not wanting to miss any of it.
Not that I know too much about it, my experience being mainly the FF books I could source at our local library back when I was a kid, but: This is easily one of the best, as far as I'm concerned. Much more of a real story than what I remember from those FF books, and I even enjoyed those life advice passages. Simply a complete and accomplished YA fantasy novel, in the form of CYOA. Great stuff.
Thanks for this!

Went thru several endings by opening new tab on critical choices, and i have to say, so far i prefer the Necromancer ending. 'Cause at least i had a good chance of taking over the world!!!

YA novel? I was 23 when I wrote this and YA didn't even exist then, it was Dragonlance or nothing. I see your point though so thanks.
As for God the intention was that you pass the test by giving any answer (even though I had yet to discover the Alfred Bester quote, it doesn't matter what you believe in as long as you believe in something) and fail by not answering. So any answer is the right one.

Haha sorry, "YA" as a genre feels still kinda weird as a label to me too, and I might've used it unfittingly. I guess I meant to use it as a shorthand for a "young people going on adventures and finding themselves, plus a bit of young romance" vibe, not surprising if it was written at 23 (quite a feat!). I also see how the label can be used derogatorily, sorry if my comment was understood in that way. I thoroughly meant what I wrote as a compliment, I very much enjoyed it.
Gavin Sat Nov 6 18:03:44 2021
lol it's fine I took it as a compliment. I do think it is the case that YA didn't exist when I was a YA and that I would nominate that Dragonlance actually created the genre.

What an acid trip of storytelling this gamebook this was, brilliant!
Gavin Sat Oct 29 14:50:05 2022
Why thank you. I didn't drop any tabs writing it, but I was usually drunk.
Peter Parker Fri Nov 4 17:12:47 2022
You're most welcome, Gavin! (Lol at the drunk comment, makes a whole lot of sense now)
I ended up being a tyrant alongside Eddora and unable to bear an heir.
I'm wondering where did I go wrong in this second playthrough? 🤔

You have to be very unlucky on the dice rolls to lose the old family jewels, this is unlikely to happen on future attempts.
