Well written! Felt immersed in the troglodyte society. The ending was a bit unexpected, but welcome and definitely makes sense. Would recommend. A rather unique experience. :)

My one disappointment was that:
SPOILER
There is not more that happens if you get lucky enough to find the ring in the Well. It's especially sad that if you take the correct path, you miss the Well altogether!

For a short gameplay, this was actually rather annoying. The bottleneck requiring an exact set of choices was bad. The battles could have been better balanced too. This felt resplendent of The Black Lobster, but with much less engagement. Playing an irregular character was nice though. 85/100

Well, I finally finished it without actually dying. Now I'm intrigued by the other endings! Thanks for this fun little diversion.

Is there a way through this?
meschlum Mon Jan 18 23:38:51 2021
There is! Insofar as there is a 'best' ending, anyway. One where...

You don't have any short term worries, like being sent on another suicide mission.

To reach this end, some hints!
1) You must be rich. 2) You must respect those who came before you. 3) You must give in to your vice.

Excellent! I particularly like how besides the main plot, there are also the background details about the fate of the three lost warriors who preceded you, which you mainly learn through making the wrong decisions. And of course, the weakness of Skuznut himself and even the clan itself are all well-conveyed, making this a very different experience from the most.
Unfortunately, the one thing which it has in common with too many other stories on here is the lack of proofreading. Then again, better (20 years) late than never, right?

This was the first amateur Fighting Fantasy adventure I ever planned and wrote, using the advice on Mark Popp's very old fightingfantasy.com website (of which there is a copy in downloads section I believe). I was living in Bangkok as an young English teacher, and would sit at the pool drinking beer and planning it all out. It was fun to write and plan and I'm glad you enjoyed adventuring in it! :-)
