Well, I won Lair of the Troglodyte by buying loads of puffballs and throwing them at the adventurer. There probably is an easier way, but I didn't find it.
Aha but there is an eaisier way, look for a growth potion and fight a snake, take its skin and give it to the chief go into big room, use big potion and your initial stats will be SK:10 ST:10 and your curent stats will be doubled
I think theres somthing wrong with Bodies In The Docks. I selected Tommy Gun usage at the beginning but when I was fighting I could not use it. I still got a fairly long way through it though.
Yes, you're right. I think I've fixed it now though.
Hmm... about the forum. Maybe you're right just now, but this place is getting more and more popular. I've got my own gamebook that I would like to post here exclusively. I would like to test it in a forum first before making it online. This would hardly be possible in a guestbook, but would certainly be something easely done in a forum. People could then critise, make comments or just provide hints and solutions for all kinds of gamebooks.
Anyway, here's a little preview as to what my gamebook is like, it's called SacreD.
You are possessed. Possessed by an Archangel. You have been chosen to
ba a host, as magical beings do not live long in the real world, (much
like a fish out of water). Being possessed allows you to perform
Miracles, magical feats of supernatural proportions...
Do you have what it takes to reach the Sphere of Infinity before your
opponent, the vile Gennowrath, host to the prince of Deamons?
Armed with your trusty two-handed sword "Soulfire", you enter the
deadly maze of Genndon, why has yet to claim a survivor.

I am looking for players for this game I've created called SacreD.
WARNING: This is not an easy quest and chances are, you might die a
few times before suceeding. Expect to fight monsters, solve riddles
and do a lot of dungeon crawling/exploration.
I expect players to post once a day.
The way the game works is similar to gamebooks (Fighting fantasy, Lone
Wolf, you name it). But it offers a choice of verbs instead of a
strict number of choices.
Players who survice this first adventure may save their character for
the next adventure.
Feel free to write, I will gladly answer any questions you might have.
When you go to bed at the start don't drink the water, just go back to sleep. Oh, and in the landing there is a door that leads to a room with a ZOMBIE in the closet. Stay in the closet too long and you have too fight it and it is rather hard.
Yet another death on House Of Horror. I died in my first fight! (The intruder in your room). If only the intruder had a little lower skill because I didn't get a single hit of him and my skill and stamina were really high! I was beaten with like his Attack Strength 19 and mine like 12.
It is DEFINATELY one of the hardest.
Newbie Tip:
SPOILER
When offered a drink at the start do not drink the white wine (I forgot the name but it's the wine that comes after the port (red) wine) best drink the brandy, coffee or soda.
END SPOILER
It may seem hard, but it's probably the only one that can realistically be completed with a SKILL of 7.
I am writing a small (not sure how long its gonna be, but small) book based on the game Lord of The Rings: The Third Age. While the characters are the same, I plan a flexible story. I was wondering, would you put it on your site when my book is done? I will send it to you if you tell me your e-mail address.
Assuming it's a gamebook that you're writing, then I would be happy to put it on the downloads page once it is completed, especially if it is of comparable quality to those already there. Whether I would be prepared to adapt it to the online format depends on various factors: how good it is (in my opinion), how close its rules are to the standard Fighting Fantasy rules and how much spare time I get.
You can use the 'contact' link to send it to me.
Those who are interested in the concept of a Lord Of The Rings gamebook might like to try this one (written by Robert LaVallie):
Whether you think it is any good is up to you, but it doesnt deviate from Fighting Fantasy rules, apart from the "Travelling Rule" where you may lose STAMINA from travel-weariness, and have to eat so much food per day, with a penalty of 3 STAMINA if you dont. I very much hope you will put it on the downloads page, as this site is the only way it can become available to anyone.
The site above has a lot more books on it than this one, but this site seems to be a lot more reliable.
Certainly it's a good idea for authors to send their books to as many sites as possible. I believe the one that you mention is at best dormant, though. I would suggest that any or all of the three Yahoo groups (see the links page) would be good places to try.
I have finally finished Lair Of The Troglodytes. Heres how you do it:
SPOILER
1. Go to Shunga's Gambling Den. 2. Play Spot The Bettle (try to win at least 5 tusks). 3. Buy 1 Moss Dumpling and as many Puffballs as possible, from Zudda. 4. Go to the Gaurdroom. 5. Run for the tunnel. 6. Kill whatever attacks you here and eat your Moss Dumpling. 7. Go to the top of the Warren. 8. Ask Ilkya about Bosha's Gourd. 9. Don't buy anything. 10. Go to the Mooncave.
the whole adventure starts winding up now. Make sure that you dont attack the advnturer and thewn drink the growing poition. you will win soon.
END SPOILER
I would quite like to look at the documet for this.
Not exactly. This will get you through the game, but not to the very best ending. Regarding the original text, it can be found on the downloads page.
