Hey. I have been thinking about writing a gamebook myself. I already have the main lines and the twists in mind. It'd be of course one set in the continent of Allansia, on an isolated overhanging recess in the Lion Heights, far enough from Kharnek to not have experienced destruction like it. It enjoys a temperate micro climate.
Synopsis: "You are a human deserter from an armed confederation of hamlets of the plains of Bronze. Tired of being a puppet to the political machinations of the kinglets, you took advantage of an important courrier mission to make your escape. Your concern to shake off the squadron of your pursuer, the persistent and highly capable seneschal Harsenf, lead you towards an isolated town located in the Lion Heights. Unbeknowst to you, you have become a pawn in the intrigues of an order of warring Maenads. Their prosperous but unstable society revolves around keeping Bakrys drunk, the high-ranked demon who conquered their land long ago. Your timing is most unfortunate because it is the night of Shekka's Moon... Can you find any trustworthy ally among the Maenads? Will you be able to finally get rid of Harsenf? But most importantly, can you survive a land tainted by the powerful spirit of Bakrys?"
I'm not explaining 17 times better it's too morbid. Bob is what they call him in the biopic film Whole Wide World, along with Wake in Fright these are the only two genuinely frightening films I've ever seen. Like (apparently) Jerry Cantrell with Rooster they came too close.
You're referring to THE Robert E. Howard, the creator of the original Conan? If so, I can only hope your comment was tongue-in-cheek. (And did he ever go by "Bob"? That's rather familiar for a writer who died nearly a century ago).
Hah I'm only familiar with Bob Howard's Conan though I'm aware there's a manga one.
The comment about being 17 times better of a writer than Bob is too morbid to explain here. Day in the Life is the closest I'll ever come to writing about it.
Nice to know I'm better than the creators of apparently the worst Star Wars media ever. I like to tell myself that I'm 17 times better of an author than the guy who invented Conan.
Surprised you didn't comment on the plot twist, which is familiar to many people from a particular franchise but more relevant to the purpose here it was used in a book called Scaramouche. Though it was probably used by cavr people in between fighting cannibal tribes and beasts and going on quests for fire and that.
Historically aediles and vigiles were indeed separate, but this is obviously an alternate history.
I don't know what a video game intermission transcript is, I was thinking of dnd.
When I saw posters for Shardlake up around the place I regretted giving that character the name of Cromwell, though to add insult to injury Shardlake has now been cancelled, and I can always say he's the Cromwell from Wolf Hall, or the Cromwell from Albert Pyun's The Sword and the Sorcerer.
A wonderful adventure! That titanic battle at the end was heartstopping. I am now well and truely cliffhung. When's the third installment coming out? Thanks for a fantastic time.
