Hey, just finished Midnight Deep. I gotta say that it was a pretty amazing story, and a real challenge. Now, I'm playing through Hellfire which is coincidentally just as hard. Now I'm stuck at this part that has a few options, but all lead to death. It's page 386, where you must pass through Hellfire. Anyone know what to do at this part? |

Hellfire is hands down the hardest book on this site. It's ridiculously (some would say retardly) difficult. I never won it, gave up after death number 20. But as for your question, I can be of some help.

I've never done it myself, that's just from stuff I heard on the board here over time. So if someone more accomplished could elaborate on it further, that'd be nice. ...I really should try again at some point. |

Thanks C-Star, I did end up getting the scroll from killing that lady. Unfortunately, I don't have the attention span to go all the way back to the Hellfire part -_- I guess I'll take a break from that and try and easier one for now... |

Oh dear God. I just tried Hellfire again. Got to the acid river. I don't think I've said the f-word more times in my life. That book is cruelty incarnate! The maps don't help much either... |

At least I already have the Wish Ring and the Mirror. I know I need these later for two powerful monsters. I also have 2 open door spells. Just need to find the time spell next... Isn't there also a very specific time you have to use it? |

Actually, forget my previous rants, I figured it out myself. Apologies. Now... I SHALL TAKE MY VENGEANCE ON THE NIGHT DEMON!!! I hope he's easier to kill... Most of the really bad monsters in Hellfire could be avoided or weakened in some way, but Trinitour was still pretty tough, even with the chaos cross. |

Hellfire seems to have some bugs regarding fighting with maces: it's still possible to click on the link if you don't have one, and seems to destroy your sword! |

Oops, I really should pay more attention to the rest of the paragraph before posting: I threw away the sword to replace with another. Still, it's possible to get to that point without a mace. |
