For Alibor's Tomb, the key you need to unlock your rival (Owen) is a platinum key. It can be "bought" from some kind of vending machine where you have to slot in Black Pearl in exchange for the key. I can't pinpoint the location because i haven't played it for a long time. |

Hey everyone, Could anyone please tell me where I can find the machine where I put in the black perl in order to get the platinum key in Allibor's tomb. I've searched around for ages but can't find it. Is it after the bit where you get the heat-resistant boots because I keep finishing up at that bit? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

It's in a room by itself. I can't remember exactly where, but I would be quite sure it's before the heat-resistance boots. It's a room where a key is in a set of shackles. You can actually pay gold too, but you would need a lot of gold. Thanks for the hints about Midnight Deep, by the way. It's the only game besides Riders of the Storm here on the site that I haven't yet beaten. House of Horror was the last, and boy is that game strange...all those potential rooms and bits of exploration, and almost none of them useful! |

Ulysses Ai Thanks for that, I managed to get the key and got all the way to fighting the skeleton of Allibor. Unfortunately I think I need some holy water or something to reduce his stamina and I don't have it. I remember having it before in the game though, I've re-started it so many times so I might have to start again, but I should get through it pretty quickly. Thanks for all your help. |

Great site you have here. I tried "The Trial Of Allibor's Tomb," and the player's stats won't update when a fight is in progress. Is that going to change? |
Thanks. Regarding the stats failing to update, I just checked and it seems to be OK. If you or anyone else see this happening again, could you email me the URL? |

The Trial Of Allibor's Tomb was really fun! I got killed by the goblins, though. Wish I had that garnet! XD Played the Trog game too, where you are a monster. It was short and sweet. :) A lot of fun. I found out about Fighting Fantasy while trying to find informaiton about Steve Jackson's F.I.S.T., the 80's telephone game that, I guess, used FF rules. My mom never would have let me call it (would have cost $100's in no time). So, I wanted to see if there was any info in this Age of Information. Found Fighting Fantasy, and I'm glad I did! :) Have fun! Sharpe |

Found a few bugs (and failed to see my post turn up before):

I can't explain why your previous post didn't turn up, but I have fixed the bugs, thanks very much for bringing them to my attention. I generally leave the maintenance of the original texts to the authors, but since it's quite a simple change, and Jeff Sinasac seems to have been quiet for a long time now, I have also made the necessary correction to the Word document. Note that this particular bug does not exist in the online version because it was only introduced after the online version was made. |

I just wanted to say that I love this game book! It was hard and it took awhile to finish it but it was so much fun! My favourite game book! |

A very interesting story. The difficulty and twist in this story is just right well done. I do manage to pick out a few mistakes from the content. For example, Page 500 "You draw your sword" on the first paragraph. It should be "You draw your parchment" |
Thanks - I've made the correction. |

Found one error at 478. The textbox is empty (the text is: "."), leaving you stranded and unable to continue. The text should be "You make it to the top with relative ease and then set off westward." with "westward" pointing to 314. |

A few bugs... When climbing out of the pit (toward 478) on a successful skill roll, the section is empty (contains only '.'), which prevents further play. Not reproducible on a second run through, oddly enough. The Helmet, despite its claims of increased prowess, does not stack with the Shield bonus. |
Thanks for pointing these out. I've fixed the bug at 478, and I've verified that the helmet and shield bonuses do stack. My guess is that you incurred a penalty which made it look as though you were only getting a +1 bonus when they were all added up. |
