Maybe you can send me an email at pericles@aol.com and describe what exactly is in this room and what kind of trap you are encountering, and I'd be happy to give you tips or even a walkthrough if you like.

Its the part where you go throughthe painting, pass the room of bones, give the answer about orions belt, then reach the room with the password. I think this is where you get the star-crystal, right?

there is one crucial thing that you need to do. After you go through the painting and end up in the castle, you need to search the chest. Here, you will find a blank scroll. Then, after you meet Grisela, you show her the scroll, and she is able to read it and warn you about the trap in the secret room. Then continue as normal. Get past the guard, go to the room, give the right password, and enter. Only this time, you will avoid the trap and find the Star of Ages.

Near the beginning, you have to attack the cloaked man who enters your room. He will give you a password to use for the guard underneath the house. When you use the password, the guard gives you a pentacle which saves your life at the very end.

you need to have the Stringiamano as well. You are attacked the first time in the Stringiamano room, then make sure to visit the library (where it will attack you again) and then you will be attacked for a third time downstairs. After the third attack, choose to trap it instead of destroy it. You will place it in a wooden box to take with you. It will then come in handy when facing the Count at the end.

If you're encountering the Boogey Man, you're on the wrong path. You shouldn't go outside the house at all.

Near the beginning, you need to try and break out of your room, then immediately attack the man who enters. He will give you the answer to the riddle posed by the guardian of the Star of Ages. When you answer the riddle, the guard gives you the pentagram.
