By now, everyone has had a fair chance to play the online version without being tempted by the existence of the original text. So today I've added Return To G15-275 to the downloads page. |

A Shadow In The North
I've added this huge gamebook by Richard Evans to the downloads page. It uses FF rules (with a magic system a bit like the one in Citadel Of Chaos), but is set in its own world. I think it would probably appeal most to those who like Midnight Deep.

Below Zero Point
Robert Douglas' sci-fi adventure, apparently written over the course of the last decade and completed in 2011, is now available to play online.
Only a week ago the Globesphere made disconcerting news. Details were sketchy, but New Scientist made an educated speculation surrounding its sonorous name: it had to be a doomsday weapon of some kind. YOU are Sean Calibre, renowned Private Investigator. It is your mission to secure this stolen experiment and return it to Federation custody before terrorists can implement its awful vengeance.

Any Port In A Storm
I've added this gamebook by Robert Douglas to the downloads page. It should be already familiar to most of you as it was his Windhammer competition entry from last year.

Tales From The Bird Islands
With the addition of Gaetano Abbondanza's Papagayo Island, this now comprises three gamebooks in total. It seems a good time to bring it out of its 'demo' status.

Escape From Neuburg Keep
Here's another FF gamebook from Tammy Badowski. I think it's probably a sequel to Beneath Nightmare Castle.

Any Port In A Storm
Robert Douglas' gamebook - an entry in last year's Windhammer competition - can now be played online.
A raging tempest transforms the ocean into seven foot waves. You can barely see anything through the relentless spray, struggle to keep your feet on the turbulent deck - yet somehow keep afloat in this maelstrom. Now, even in this foul night of slashing rain, you can barely make out the familiar shape of a lighthouse. Yet the sheer relief of reaching salvation blinds you to the unnatural eerie glow from its beacon...
Thanks to Alessandro Viola for providing the Italian dialogue.

The Sleeping Dragon
I've adapted Tammy Badowski's gamebook for online play. Because it's set entirely on an island, I've crowbarred it into Tales From The Bird Islands.
In the original you are commissioned by Lord Azzur to go to Silhouette Island and bring back 'The Sleeping Dragon'. Here you just turn up at the island for no reason, unless a future addition to the series provides one... |

Escape Neuburg Keep
Tammy Badowski's companion to Beneath Nightmare Castle, which has been on the downloads page for a while, can now be played online.
You wake up from a dream in which you were being eaten by a ghoul. All you can recall from this nightmare was its teeth biting into your forearm, your blood leaking out on the floor, and your muscles being gnawed on desperately. The sound of the ghoul biting down onto your forearm bone was what woke you up. The crunch... the gurgling... the hissing delight of laughter...
The gamebook is short, but not at all sweet... be aware there are some rather graphic descriptions in this one.

A Shadow In The North
This is the first in what will hopefully be an epic trilogy by Richard Evans. Certainly the first two exist (see the downloads page). If you particularly like The Diamond Key or Midnight Deep this is definitely for you.
King Ragnar's meddling destroyed the northern World-Flame, and the North began to descend into anarchy. Innshelm's former enemies cared not, struggling instead over the wreckage of its Empire. Only one, the city-state of Talras, sent aid. YOU are the one they sent, a warrior trained in the sword, the bow and the art of magic. It is your mission to travel through the dangers of Innshelm and relight the World-Flame.

Nen-Tai
Another Bird Island - one of the two off the east coast of Goi-Han mentioned in Isle Of The Cyclops - is now up and running. This is also written by Richard Evans. |

Sapphire Atoll
The instigator of the Bird Islands project makes his first appearance. It's the small atoll with connections to The Sleeping Dragon that Ulysses spoke of a few days ago.
It's meant to begin after a shipwreck, and possibly finish at Sempura, however as we don't have either of these things yet it is currently reached in the usual way and finishes at Goi-Han. |

A Flame In The North
The second instalment of Richard Evans' trilogy is now ready.
"Listen closely," he says, his face contorted by tremendous effort, "for there is but little time. You must reach Novgard soon and lead an army to the World-Flame. At first we thought that the death of the Northern World-Flame did not affect ours, but we were wrong. Everywhere the other World-Flames are fading, despite all our efforts". Your blood chills, the extinction of the World-Flames would plunge the Earth back into the chaos of its formation; an event that civilisation would be unlikely to survive.

Bird Islands Additions
Tales From The Bird Islands now incorporates three more (short) Andrew Wright gamebooks :
In The Shade Of The Pango Tree Debacle At Dead Man's Inn Into The Valley Of Halos
They were originally written for the Fighting Fantasy Newsletter, and have been on the Downloads page here for a few years. They were set in the Old World, in Mauristatia, but for our purposes have been relocated to Sempura. |

More Bird Islands
Blackfort Island now joins Tales From The Bird Islands with these new additions from Ulysses Ai :
The Island Of The Tyrant Island Of The Soulless
As written, The Island Of The Tyrant included ship combat - this hasn't been included in the online version (yet). Nonetheless, everything bar one side quest (which depends on an object from Crescent Island) is possible.
Blackmaw is now one of the possible destinations when you set sail, the other island is reached a different way... |
